Tips: When My Computer Keeps Freezing Up
What does it mean when a computer freeze? Well when your computer freezes you will definitely see something is wrong. Unexpectedly you cannot move your mouse cursor, close programs or windows, or basically do anything at all. So many times our computers might freeze on us. This usually happens in the most unwanted times, especially when you are busy with tasks or a really important document. This in fact is very frustrating when it comes to time management, and needing to send a document that has a due date.
Prevention tips:
Always make sure that your computer or laptop's fan are well ventilated (make sure that there are no material that can occlude the fan, and thus prevent the over heating of your computer).Make sure that you have a recommended anti-virus loaded on your computer (to prevent any unwanted malware from corrupting files, slowing them down and cause the system to freeze).
Make sure that you have enough memory (Random Access Memory) installed for your own personal needs. (With insufficient Random Access Memory your computer can not function properly).
It is strongly recommended that you just open your computer case regularly to check if there is no dust clogging the fans. If there is a large amount of dust then please clean or buy a can of compressed air at your local computer shop and clean it.
Always keep your windows registry clean.
Try not to have too many programs open at one time. (The more programs that is open, the more Random Access Memory it would need).
Tips for when your computer freezes:
When your computer actually freezes just be a little patient and wait a few seconds to see what actually happens (it might be temporary thus everything will start functioning again after a few minutes). If your computer is still unresponsive then, at the same time, press buttons 'Alt', 'Ctrl' and 'Del'. This should bring up a frame with menus. Choose the Windows Task Manager and go to 'Applications'. Read to see if there are any programs statuses showing that the program are not running or are not responsive. If there is any program highlighted or sign of a program that is not running, you may click the specific program and choose the 'End Task' button.
Today, our computers store very important information for us. We would not want any of these data lost. If all else fails call in the experts for some free advice on correct software and how to trace and fix these problems.
